Jaejoong was featured on the cover of Indonesian tabloid, Tabloid Gaul, early July 2013 edition.
On the cover it said “Solo Career Trend, Jaejoong is the Ultimate Champion” (Tren Solo Karir, Jaejoong Paling Juara).

The article inside the tabloid discuss about the current trend of Kpop idols to launch solo albums. Among the idols discussed in the tabloid are Wooyoung 2PM, G-Dragon, Jo Kwon 2AM, Henry Suju, CL 2NE1, Kim Hyunjoong and Kim Jaejoong.
The article said that Jaejoong solo album I/Y that sold more than 200 thousand copies based on Gaon chart, had made Jaejoong as a solo artist with highest selling album. One Kiss, his pre release song also very well received. The article concluded that those facts plus his huge popularity in Japan and his successful Asia Tour had made him the most successful solo artist of all Kpop idols. The article talked about how thousands of his fans filling his concert venues up to the brim because the fans missed this handsome man singing with his golden voice on stage so much. It also mentioned that even though Jaejoong could not do any activities in Japan because of agency problems, he is still very much loved and missed dearly by his Japanese fans.
There was a side article that talked about idols that left their former agencies to pursue their own way. The names discussed were Jay Park, Hangeng and JYJ. About Hangeng, the article said: quote “One of SM Entertainment artist Hangeng decided to leave because he felt he was treated unfairly by SM management. From unequal distribution of profit, the length of contract period which is very inhuman, up to the very packed schedule that made Hangeng suffered from kidney and digestive illness. Because of these problems Hangeng decided to quit. Now he is busy with his career in China as actor, model and singer and had won many awards” end quote.
The article continued to talk about the problem of JYJ and SM and their difficulties to work in Korea and Japan.
Finally, the article concluded that those names who are successful after leaving their former label must have a special ability in music. It is proved by their successful career after they left. Jay Park, Hangeng and JYJ remain shining bright even though separated from their famous original groups. Looking at this phenomenon, there article shows it concern that other artists will follow their lead and eventually leave their respective groups. “Let’s hope it wont be the case” it said.

Kim Jae Joong will be winning the Hallyu Drama OST Award at the Seoul Drama Awards, and he′s thoroughly happy about it.
The singer will be receiving the award for his MBC Dr. Jin OST piece titled Living Like a Dream.
The song, with lyrics penned by the singer himself, had topped Melon′s OST chart as soon as it was released online.

In Dr. Jin, Kim Jae Joong acted as Kim Kyung Tak, the son of a concubine who suffered from his status.
An official commented, “Kim Jae Joong′s vocals and emotions gave birth to a song that fits Dr. Jin perfectly. He participated in writing the lyrics for the song, letting his musical talent shine forth, and the song played a great role in conveying the sad emotions of the story with more depth.”
Kim Jae Joong told enews through his agency C-JeS Entertainment on August 27, “I was able to express my emotions while singing and writing the lyrics because I knew how the characters felt as a member of the cast. I want to thank everyone for loving not only the drama, but also its OST.”
