WHAT MADE YOU COME TO LIKE PARK YOOCHUN?

I had gone through a lot of hardships in the past, when things were getting finally looking up, I happened to chance upon ‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal’ and was mesmerized by Park Yoochun.  I don’t watch a lot of TV, so I basically don’t know many artists.  It was through my daughter, who is now in high school, that I came to know more about Park Yoochun – that he began his career with DBSK and is now a member of the group JYJ.  When the drama ended, I still watched it several times, and the original novel and the sequel, 3 to 4 times.

 YOU ALSO WROTE THE POEM “THANK YOU PARK YOOCHUN”.

I don’t open up to people easily then, but because of Park Yoochun, I found myself again.  He was like a gift to me, a ray of light, and a person that I’m thankful for, I even found myself writing a poem dedicated to him. The poem is in my premiere poem collection “Time you cannot have no matter where”, it’s the last poem. And it’s this poem that made me a well-known poet on the internet. [Laughs]  The poem was also included in my personal exhibition last May. There will be people who will enquire about it occasionally, this makes me really happy.  One day, I hope that I will be able to have it framed and present it to Park Yoochun as a gift.

HOW WAS THE REACTION FROM PEOPLE AROUND YOU WHEN THEY KNOW YOU’RE A FAN?

They all say I’m very brave. I was even asked what made me put an artist’s name, for the matter, an idol’s name in a poem. Some even joked with me to say to have their name included in a poem and give it to them as a present.  My daughter however seems really happy about this, she will call out to me to come watch the TV when she sees Park Yoochun’s CF – even when I’m doing the dishes.

DO YOU PARTICIPATE IN THE SUPPORT ACTIVITIES?

I have joined the club, but never present in their activities. I feel a tad embarrassed due to my age. I am already very satisfied by rewatching the drama and seeing the collection of pictures in my computer.

HAS YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR DAUGHTER GOTTEN BETTER AS A RESULT?

I have come to pay closer attention to news of idols due to my liking for Park Yoochun.  The communication with my daughter has gotten better. My daughter likes Big Bang, and has requested if she can go for their concert. If not for Park Yoochun, I would have never understood her thinking.  I may actually get angry with her for neglecting her studies paying too much attention to idols.

WHAT SORT OF FAN WILL YOU WANT TO BE?

A silent supporter who will always be there for him, like a mother or an aunt, with hopes that he will continue to grow and excel as a brilliant actor and singer.
